Want to distract little kids during Mass while introducing them to the saints at the same time? Get a bunch of holy cards (sources below), laminate them (if they aren’t already laminated), hole punch them, and throw them on a key chain. Toddlers can play with them instead of your real keys during Mass; as they grow older, you can use the pictures to tell them about the saints. Older kids can use the prayers on the back of the cards as an aid to prayer after communion.
How to Make a Holy Card Key Chain
- Key chains can be purchased anywhere, although you may want to buy a Pope Francis finger rosary key chain to make it extra special.
- Saint prayer cards can be purchased at your local Catholic bookstore or online at The Catholic Company (where they are 75 cents each) or at Amazon.
