Do your kids write a letter to Santa? Encourage them to write a letter to Jesus, too. “What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asks (Mark 10:51). Make the letter your response, keeping it simple enough for your children to be able to imitate (e.g., make a list).
Most children will ask for concrete things (toys); go ahead and let them list those, but then suggest a few more:
- peace and happiness in our hearts
- good friends
- the chance to be helpful to others
- something for a sibling or family member (“Grandma to have a safe surgery”)
- to know and love God
- help being good
Put it in an envelope and “mail” it to Jesus by taking it to church.
