|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00am on of March, repeating indefinitely

(1203-1280)

Two kings and an emperor asked to marry Agnes, the daughter of the king of Bohemia. Instead, she petitioned the pope to let her become a Poor Clare nun. Her request was granted, and she became one of hundreds of noblewomen across Europe to give up their privileges to join the movement begun by St. Francis and St. Clare. Despite being elected abbess, she continued to cook and sew for the other nuns, and care for lepers.
