St. Bartholomew (apostle)

August 24

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00am on of August, repeating indefinitely

St. Bartholomew is traditionally associated with the apostle Nathanael, which is why for his feast day we hear the reading from the Gospel of John in which Nathanael teases Jesus about his birthplace—and Jesus responds with a tongue-in-cheek retort of his own, and a statement that so impresses Nathanael that he is moved to proclaim, “You are the Son of God.”
