March 6

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every year that begins at 12:00am on of March, repeating indefinitely

(d. 475)

Gerasimus gave up his wealthy life to live a simple life of prayer and fasting on the banks of the Jordan River; others followed, and a community was formed. Once, he came upon a lion in great distress. Gerasimus removed a thorn from its paw and took care of it until it was healed. The lion became his constant companion. When Gerasimus died, the lion lay over his grave until it died, too.
